Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies in the United States seeks a Mechanical Piping Designer – Staff Engineering Technician to support Water and Industrial Water projects. You will develop and modify piping layouts and models for water and wastewater facilities, coordinating with process equipment, structures, and utilities.

The role focuses on 3D piping layouts using Autodesk Revit, with hybrid work options after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Diploma or Certificate preferred.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and BV policies and procedures.
• Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency and deliverables are compliant with codes and standards.
• Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates.
• Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information.
• May define work assignments and maintain schedules.
• May review the deliverables of others.
• May program control systems or participate in other plant start-up activities.
• Supports field activities.

Education

Diploma or Certificate preferred

Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
