Job summary

H 2 O Innovation is seeking a Water Operator for its Laurel, MS site. You will operate, maintain, and repair water distribution and sewer systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe, reliable service for customers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license; a Class C license is preferred but not required, with certification obtainable after hire. Expected compensation is $16–$20 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

• Class C Water Operator License preferred but not required; ability to obtain certification after hire required.
• Basic knowledge of water distribution and sewer collection systems preferred.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and utility vehicles.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to security.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair water distribution and sewer collection system infrastructure.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines, valves, hydrants, service connections, and related equipment.
• Assist with locating, repairing, and replacing damaged water and sewer lines.
• Install, read, test, repair, and replace water meters as needed.
• Monitor system performance and identify leaks, blockages, and equipment malfunctions.
• Collect water samples and perform routine testing in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and department equipment safely and effectively.
• Respond to customer service requests, utility service issues, and emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate records, work orders, and operational logs.
• Follow all safety procedures, department policies, and applicable regulations
