Job summary

CWS in Mebane, NC is seeking a hands-on Water Distribution Operator to operate, maintain, and supervise water distribution and treatment systems. You will service pumps and valves, keep pump stations running, and ensure safety compliance across the operation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, water operator certification is preferred, and a valid driver's license with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Weekend/on-call availability may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a water treatment environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains the water distribution system including servicing pumps, motors, valves, generators, and equipment.
• Maintains pump stations.
• Performs sample collection, preparation, and laboratory testing.
• Maintains records, performs data entry, and provides detailed reporting.
• Ensures completion of work assignments within deadlines and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Analyzes and evaluates pump equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and monitors water operations.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and infrastructure.
• Maintains facility grounds including cleaning equipment and tanks.
• Performs general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, cleanups, pruning.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

• Performs facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks
• Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, cleanups, pruning, and other typical landscape maintenance tasks
• Performs other related duties as directed

Qualifications: Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior or current water operator certification strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records required
• Experience within a water treatment environment
• Ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Requires the ability to read, write, compile, and analyze data and reports daily
• Ability to monitor control panels, gauges, and meters to ensure proper plant operation
• Must be available to work weekends, overtime and ‘on-call’ as needed
