Job summary

The City of Brandon is seeking a Water Operator I to operate and maintain the municipal water system, including wells, pumps, valves, and storage tanks. You will monitor the system, collect samples, perform maintenance, and respond to alarms in a safety-conscious, team environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a Mississippi Class D Waterworks Operator License. Prior water utility experience is preferred, with ability to read maps and use GIS/SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SCADA, GIS, and reading maps is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, repair groundwater wells and water distribution systems.
• Monitor water system via SCADA and respond to alarms.
• Collect water quality samples per health regulations.
• Maintain records and reports of inspections and maintenance.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
