Job summary

SolveNow LLC in The Villages, FL is seeking a Meter Reader to read water meters on assigned routes and accurately record readings. You will inspect meters, report defective units, repair minor leaks, explain unusual readings to customers, and provide courteous service while maintaining legible records.

Strong math skills and basic plumbing knowledge are helpful in this role. Familiarity with city street geometry is a plus, and the job is typically performed on-site, following standard safety

Responsibilities

• Read water meters on assigned routes and accurately record readings.
• Report meters that are skipped or not acceptable for reading.
• Visually inspect meters to ensure proper functioning and report defective meters.
• Repair leaks and broken water lines as needed.
• Explain and interpret unusual meter readings to customers.
• Turn water meters on and off, and install or assist with installation of meters and meter boxes.
• Perform other related duties as directed.
• Maintain accurate, legible records and perform routine mathematical calculations.
• Provide courteous and tactful customer service.
• Utilize knowledge of city street geometry and basic plumbing/water installation and repair.
