Job summary

SolveNow Inc. is seeking Meter Readers to cover The Villages, FL. You will read and record water meter readings along a defined route, identify and report any issues, and assist with meter installation or repair as needed.

Responsibilities include verifying meter operation, explaining unusual readings to customers, and turning meters on/off. Prior reading experience and a courteous demeanor are valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the geography of the city street locations.
• Knowledge of plumbing and water meter installation and repair.
• Ability to write legibly.
• Able to make routine mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.
• Able to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.

Responsibilities

• Reads water meters on an assigned route and records readings
• Reports meter skip or not acceptable for reading
• Visually checks to see that meters are functioning properly and reports defective meters
• Repairs leaks and broken water lines
• Explains and interprets unusual readings to customer
• Turns water meters on and off, installs or assists with installation of meters and meter boxes
• Performs other related work as directed
