Job summary

Town of Pecos City seeks a Utilities Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repair of Zenner water meters and the Zenner portal. Under general supervision, you will respond to customer requests related to water service and maintain the portal to support the community’s needs and the city's ethics.

You will inspect meters, test and repair, rebuild registers, handle leaks, log service orders, and assist with meter assemblies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License or obtain one within six months of hire.
• One year (1) of water utility experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Zenner meters, safety regulations, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Update the Zenner portal daily and inspect meters and services.
• Test, disassemble and repair meters, hydrant meters and backflow preventers; replace parts as needed.
• Rebuilds and/or replaces registers and assists with meter assembly.
• Respond to customer complaints, check for leaks, perform flow checks and water quality related flushing.
• Complete daily logs, service orders, and other required reports.
