Job summary

The City of Bedford seeks a Water Utility Worker to perform meter readings, activate and terminate water service, and assist with hydrant maintenance. Under supervision, you will process work orders, read meters manually and electronically, and ensure accurate billing support.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read and record utility meter readings manually and with electronic equipment.
• Turn on/off water service for the Utility Billing division using hand tools.
• Inspect meters, prepare work orders, and assist with hydrant maintenance.
• Respond to customer inquiries and assist Public Works as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and maintain daily attendance.
