Job summary

Qualified candidates have at least one year of public-contact experience and a valid California Class C driver's license; training is provided. A probationary period applies as part of the appointment process.

Qualifications

• One year of experience involving public contact in the field or office.
• Driver license: California Class C required at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Read meters on assigned routes and record readings, making necessary calculations.
• Check consistency of readings and report unusual cases to a supervisor.
• Identify meter irregularities and report to supervisor.
• Tactfully respond to citizen inquiries and complaints.
