City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities is seeking a Utility Maintenance Mechanic II to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on large water meters and related equipment in the City's water system.

The position requires reading technical manuals and blueprints, maintaining accurate records, and compliance with safety standards. Work is Monday–Friday at 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with essential duties and potential after-hours emergencies.

Qualificações

• Four years of high school education or equivalent.
• One year experience in machinery repair and operation.
• Two years or more of experience in machinery repair and operation.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsabilidades

• Performs preventive maintenance and testing of large water meters.
• Repairs and replaces meter equipment, valves and distribution lines.
• Maintains records and prepares reports on equipment and activities.
• Monitors meter inventory and supports replacement programs.
• Responds to customer questions and inspects meters in the field.
