Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Project Engineer to support capital delivery for Aurora Water's source-of-supply system, including reservoirs, tunnels, and pipelines. The role offers a path to Senior Engineer level based on qualifications, with salary commensurate with experience and a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities include reviewing technical documents, coordinating with consultants, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring project timelines and budgets

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
• Experience with engineering calculations and project management
• Knowledge of GIS, MS Project or similar scheduling tools is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with vendors and stakeholders
• Licenses: Colorado Professional Engineer or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects for Aurora Water's source-of-supply system.
• Review drawings, specs, and reports for compliance with standards.
• Coordinate consultants/contractors; manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with Operations, other departments, and external partners.
• Lead risk management and multi-project prioritization.
• Represent Aurora Water in meetings and present technical information.
