Job summary

City of Syracuse—The work involves installing, maintaining and repairing water mains and services, applying plumbing skills to related tasks. Assignments come from a crew leader; you may work as a team or independently on smaller tasks.

Residency is required for this position. Any offers are contingent on a background check and drug screen, with a probationary period as noted by policy.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time outdoor construction work experience including operation of trucks or equipment.
• One year of full-time underground utility work experience.
• Must possess a valid non-CDL or CDL with appropriate endorsements as required by NYS DMV.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance and repair of water mains and services as directed by crew leader.
• Work as part of a crew to complete tasks and document work performed.
• Follow safety and procedural guidelines; undergo background check and possible drug screening.
