The role focuses on water main replacement work within the City’s distribution system; daytime hours are typical, with potential overtime. CDL training is offered for new hires who do not yet hold a CDL license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of water distribution systems.
• Knowledge of operation and preventive maintenance of a variety of equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects; climb ladders; use dexterous tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in water distribution maintenance and repair activities, especially water mains.
• Assist with repairs to plumbing, process equipment and electrical systems.
• Operate heavy equipment like skid steer, wheel loader and backhoe.
• Monitor inventory of parts, supplies and chemicals; communicate with coworkers.
