Job summary

City of Wichita seeks a General Maintenance Supervisor I to lead modernization efforts of Wichita’s water distribution infrastructure. You will oversee capital projects, coordinate with engineers, contractors, and city teams, and ensure scope, budget, and schedules are met to deliver safe, dependable water services.

The role requires a four-year degree and two years of professional project management experience in water systems; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus two (2) years of professional project management experience involving construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, or capital improvements for a water distribution system, water treatment plant, pump station, or municipal utility facility, supervising employees, contractors, or project team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned project activities from planning through completion within scope and direction.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants, construction contractors, and City teams on scope, budgets, schedules, design, quality and construction.
• Plan, track and schedule project timelines using appropriate management tools; review progress reports and invoices for accuracy.
