Forsyth County seeks a Civil Engineer to provide engineering and construction support for Water & Sewer Projects across county infrastructure. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with four years of municipal water/sewer project experience and a valid Georgia driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; supplemented by four (4) years’ experience in municipal water and sewer projects.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Protection Division Permitting and Minimum Standards for Public Water Systems and Guidelines for Sewage Collection Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops engineering specifications for project construction based on programming assessment, design concepts, and approved preliminary plans.
  • Calculates cost estimates and identifies resources needed for projects; provides technical assistance throughout the project.
  • Participates in bid preparation, contractor selection, and acts as County liaison for water and sewer projects.
  • Reviews the work of contracted engineers and contractors; approves designs and change orders as appropriate.
  • Monitors project schedules, reviews progress reports, and coordinates inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews plans, conducts meetings, and resolves problems with consultants, contractors, and work crews.
