Job summary

City of Caldwell is seeking an Infrastructure Operator II to perform moderately complex tasks in building and maintaining the water distribution system. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather and traffic, with supervision from the infrastructure supervisor and opportunities for independent judgment.

The position requires at least two years in water distribution work, a valid driver’s license, and appropriate licenses; on-call rotation and after-hours work are expected.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in water distribution construction, maintenance, or repair.
• Graduation from High School or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Possession of required licenses and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and replaces water mains, valves, hydrants, and service connections.
• Operates backhoes, loaders, compactors, and tapping machines.
• Locates utilities and marks underground facilities in accordance with state rules.
• Performs leak detection and assists with emergency main breaks.
• Maintains records, logs, and maps of projects and participates in standby rotation.
