Job summary

Kennedy Jenks seeks a dynamic Client Service Director in San Diego to grow its water and wastewater practice across a national footprint. This senior role combines client leadership, market development, and delivery oversight for projects in water, wastewater, stormwater, and related infrastructure.

You’ll work with established leaders to identify opportunities, build teams, and deliver practical infrastructure solutions that support communities and utilities while leveraging a national platform

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or a similar engineering field.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in consulting, engineering, or infrastructure services.
• Thorough understanding of the local consulting market, including municipal and industry client needs.
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure in CA.
• Willingness to travel to client sites, project locations, and Kennedy Jenks offices as needed.
• Design-Build experience and DBIA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop opportunities and engage the marketplace to identify new clients, projects, and service opportunities.
• Advance client relationships to expand service offerings and strengthen long-term partnerships.
• Lead strategic pursuits including positioning, teaming, proposals, interview prep, and pursuit planning across the territory.
• Build high-performing teams through internal collaboration on hiring, staff development, and inclusive leadership.
• Oversee scope, schedule, fee development, staffing, and coordination from planning through design and construction.
• Serve as a project manager, project engineer, or project team member to add value through leadership and technical judgment.
