Jacobs in El Segundo, CA seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to design, implement, and maintain control systems for water treatment equipment. You’ll select instruments, program PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, and integrate into processes while documenting work and performing routine maintenance.

You will troubleshoot plant instrumentation, calibrate instruments, review spare parts, and ensure safety standards compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of water/wastewater treatment facilities or similar industrial environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with computer systems and programs such as Microsoft Office and HachWIMS, plus CMMS tools.
• Ability to provide leadership and prioritize work activities on a shift basis.
• Available for emergencies as needed.
• Experience writing procedure manuals and/or SOPs.
• Ability to apply mathematics to operational tasks (chemical dosing, flow calculations, volumes).
• Experience creating technical documents, publications, and design reports.
• Valid CA Driver’s License with no major infractions required.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation and controls with precision.
• Interface with customers regarding I&C designs and submitted documents.
• Assess client problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Maintain plant field instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment via preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Develop and implement calibration programs for plant instrumentation.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance; analyze trend data as directed.
• Review spare parts inventory and monitor usage to optimize orders.
• Maintain calibration records per regulatory standards.
• Repair plant equipment following vendor guidelines and plant procedures.
• Acquire knowledge of plant logic and control systems; troubleshoot from drawings and diagrams.
• Consult plant manuals, system descriptions, and emergency plans for quick access.
• Respond promptly to plant incidents or emergencies.
• Inspect, repair, install, and remove motors, generators, transformers, switches, wiring, and related components.
• Perform calibration and analysis on facility instrumentation including DCS, PLCs, and turbine control systems.
