Job summary

Garver LLC is seeking a Water Hydraulic Modeling Intern in Overland Park, Kansas. This in-office internship provides hands-on experience in hydraulic modeling, master planning, and design for water and wastewater systems under seasoned engineers.

You will work with Garver's Water Infrastructure – Modeling, Analytics, and Planning Team, mentored by industry leaders, and gain exposure to ArcGIS, fluid mechanics, and water resources topics through real projects and site visits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited civil or environmental engineering bachelor’s degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Interest in designing water and wastewater infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support hydraulic modeling and planning tasks under mentorship.
• Assist with water and wastewater projects.
• Gain real-world environmental and civil engineering experience.
• Visit Garver Water project sites.

Garver’sWater Infrastructure – Modeling, Analytics, and Planning Team, a resource group focused on hydraulic modeling, master planning, alternatives analysis, and conceptual design of water supply, water transmission, water distribution, and wastewater collection systemsis seeking aWater Hydraulic Modeling Intern tojoin our team. This intern will gain real-world experience in modeling and planning for water and wastewater systems while working in a fast-paced, professional setting.Join our group of professionalswhoare working with communities across Garver’s footprint and are developing solutions for their water and wastewater needs.

Internship Description:

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced water professionals and industry leaders.
• Gain real-world environmental and civil engineering experience through assisting with a wide array of water and wastewater projects.
• Receive training from our experienced water staff and project managers.
• Gain experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry.
• Visit some of Garver’s Water project sites.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a civil or environmental engineering bachelor’s degree in an ABET accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Interest in designing water and wastewater infrastructure.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with ArcGIS.
• Experience with Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources, and/or Open Channel Hydraulics.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
