Job summary

Garver is seeking a Water Hydraulic Modeling Intern in Overland Park, Kansas. You will work with and be mentored by experienced water professionals, gaining real-world environmental and civil engineering experience across water and wastewater projects.

You will also engage in Garver’s Launch program, training opportunities, and community volunteering while developing skills in ArcGIS, hydraulics, and water resources. This in-office internship emphasizes growth and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a civil or environmental engineering bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Interest in designing water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide array of water and wastewater projects under mentorship.
• Learn from experienced water professionals and project managers.
• Support field visits to Garver water projects as needed.
• Engage in Garver Launch program and develop professional skills.

Requirements

• Candidates must be pursuing a civil or environmental engineering bachelor’s degree in an ABET accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Interest in designing water and wastewater infrastructure.

Preferred skills

• Experience with ArcGIS.
• Experience with Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources, and/or Open Channel Hydraulics.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
