Job summary

Garver’s Water Team in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Water Engineering Intern to gain real-world design experience in a fast-paced professional setting. This in-office internship offers mentorship from experienced water professionals and exposure to a range of water projects across the region.

You'll work on site, visit project sites, and participate in Garver Launch program with wellness, volunteering, and training initiatives to support your development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or biological/biosystems engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced water professionals and industry leaders.
• Gain real-world environmental and civil engineering experience through assisting with water projects.
• Visit Garver’s Water project sites.
• Duties performed in an office setting with possible offsite travel for meetings or site visits.

Garver’s experienced Water Team is seeking a Water Engineering Intern to join our team in our Birmingham, AL office. This intern will gain real-world experience in design while working in a fast-paced, professional setting.Join our group of professionals who are working with communities throughout the region and are developing solutions for their water needs.

Internship Description:

• Work alongside and be mentored by experienced water professionals and industry leaders.
• Gain real-world environmental and civil engineering experience through assisting with a wide array of water projects.
• Receive training from our experienced water staff and project managers.
• Gain experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry.
• Visit some of Garver’s Water project sites.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a civil, environmental, or biological/biosystems engineering bachelor’s degree in an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
