Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Louisville is seeking a Water Fitness Instructor for Floyd County Family YMCA in New Albany, IN. This part-time role focuses on delivering water fitness classes, maintaining a safe pool atmosphere, and providing a welcoming, professional presence to members.

Responsibilities include greeting participants, setting up equipment, upholding YMCA values, and maintaining certifications. Must be 18+ and able to lead water fitness classes; prior certification is preferred or obtained

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and capable of leading a water fitness class
• YMCA Water Fitness Certification or AEA equivalent within 6 months
• Provide safe, engaging water fitness classes to members
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
• Stay informed on water fitness and healthy lifestyles

Responsibilities

• Uphold YMCA mission and demonstrate a nurturing, welcoming attitude
• Lead water fitness classes and ensure member safety
• Greet participants, set up equipment, and monitor pool area
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
• Maintain required certifications
