Refined Technologies is seeking a Water Field Technologist for Rizon to support field operations, deliver technical service, and drive performance excellence across the region. You will mentor field teams, engage with customers, and ensure safety and quality in chemical applications.

The role requires deep experience in specialty chemicals and refinery operations, strong analytical and communication skills, and heavy travel (about 50–70%).

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled and performance-driven Water Field Technologist at Rizon to support the growth, and execution excellence of Rizon’s chemical services in the field. This role will serve as a technical advisor, field mentor, and performance advocate, ensuring that our field operations teams deliver and communicate exceptional results that meet both internal standards and customer expectations. The Field Technologist will be deeply involved in business development, program transitions, training, KPI analysis, and customer engagement, traveling throughout the region to support operational execution, troubleshoot challenges, and reinforce a culture of excellence.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Technical Consulting
  • Serve as a technical advisor to the client and Rizon team.
  • Participate in customer meetings to review performance, discuss improvement opportunities, and share market insights.
  • Escalate technical issues within the Rizon and Client team.
  • Conduct customer site visits and participate in business reviews.
  • Collaborate with SME’s to standardize practices across the technical landscape by creating necessary procedures and guidelines.
  • Stay current on market trends, competitive practices, and customer expectations in the specialty chemicals space.
Sales Support & Business Transition
  • Utilize strong technical ability and sales acumen to support the sales process.
  • Play an active role in launching new business and supporting key account transitions.
  • Support startup procedures, chemical commissioning, and process integration for new clients.
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure smooth execution.
Field Excellence & Technical Proficiency
  • Represent “what great looks like” in the field - modeling best-in-class execution and building this culture within the local teams.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for troubleshooting operational issues and liaison to Corporate SMEs when necessary.
  • Leadership role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
Performance Oversight & KPI Monitoring
  • Review and analyze operational KPIs across accounts within the region.
  • Identify performance trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct field audits to review quality of service and adherence to standards.
Training & Team Development
  • Deliver in-field and classroom training on chemical application, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
  • Assist in onboarding and providing ongoing feedback, coaching and technical development of field service personnel.
  • Promote a performance-driven, safety-conscious culture across the team.
Qualifications
Required
  • 10+ years of field experience in specialty chemicals, industrial services, petrochemical or refinery operations.
  • Sales and commercial acumen.
  • Strong understanding of chemical application, plant processes, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Experience training or mentoring technical field staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage confidently with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region.
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Previous experience in field-based technical leadership roles.
Travel Requirement
  • Approximately 50-70% within assigned region, including time at company offices and client sites.
