Job summary

City of Hamilton is seeking a semi-skilled maintenance worker to perform repair and upkeep of water and water reclamation equipment. You will operate power tools, read meters and gauges, and conduct routine maintenance under supervision.

Six months of labor or construction experience and a valid CDL Class B or higher are required. Preferred candidates have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work heavy manual labor in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience as a laborer or in construction or related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate power bench tools (saws, pipe threader, welders, drill press) for repair and maintenance.
• Lubricate and inspect equipment; take readings from meters and gauges.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair malfunctioning equipment and assist with installation of new equipment.
• Recondition deep wells; perform maintenance at reservoirs and water booster stations.
• Operate trucks, air compressors, hoists and other equipment in utility tasks.
• Follow safety practices around hazardous substances.
