Job summary

Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is seeking a part-time water exercise instructor who loves helping people move, stay motivated, and have fun in the water. You will lead energizing and safe classes, fostering a welcoming environment that encourages member wellness and engagement.

As part of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA team, you will work with staff to support member goals, provide education on wellness trends, and help members connect with each other and the YMCA community.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, fun, safe and educational group water exercise classes as directed.
• Engage in active listening with members to support healthy living goals.
• Build authentic relationships with members and help them connect with the YMCA.

If you love the water and enjoy helping people get moving, motivated, healthy and having fun, being a water exercise instructor at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is the job for you! We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic fitness professionals.

Instructor will teach water exercise classes that are energizing, fun, safe and educational. Our instructors help to provide a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead energizing, fun, safe and educational group water exercise classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Engage in active listening with members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintain working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Build effective, authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the YMCA. Have knowledge of class schedules and other departments/services at the YMCA.

Pay: The starting hourly rate is $19.11, depending on experience and certifications.
