Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver seeks an Assistant Construction Manager to support the Project Manager and site leadership across EPC projects. You will help manage safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and procurement on diverse programs including aviation, commercial, energy, and water sectors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering and strong MS Office skills, with a record of effective communication and analytical abilities. Travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multiple years of experience on construction project sites or executing program management in relevant industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Project Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, or EPC/Program Manager with day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and procurement.
  • Collaborate with project management to build client relationships and interface with the client for proposals and project items.
  • Contribute to risk reviews and coordinate development of execution and QA plans.
  • Support development of staffing, procurement, and subcontracting plans; prepare contract documents for subcontractor selection.
  • Assist with RFP preparation, scope of work development, bidding, and change management.
  • Support cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, project set-up and closeout, and field progress tracking.
  • Prepare project status reports and meeting minutes for stakeholders.
