Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Rapid City, SD, is seeking a Water EIT to design water systems under supervision, contributing to planning, preliminary, and detailed drawings.

You will work with our Water Business Group to deliver safe drinking water, treat wastewater, and support infrastructure resilience, using BIM and modeling tools.

Bachelor's in civil/environmental, EIT, teamwork, and MS Office are required; we value collaboration and an active participant in our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil, Environmental or related engineering field.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
• Interest or experience in water-focused design.
• Experience with BIM, numerical modeling and production tools.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Create planning level, preliminary, and detailed water designs under supervision.
• Prepare deliverables, specs, analyses, modeling and study reports; work with clients to deliver an outstanding experience.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of completed deliverables.
• Support on construction inspection/administration activities.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Water EIT, we'll count on you to:

• Create planning level, preliminary, and detailed designs of water focused systems under instruction from a Project Engineer or person in responsible charge
• Prepare deliverables for water or water resources focused systems, write specifications, analysis, modeling, and study-level reports, determine appropriate design methods, possible equipment sizing and selection, and work directly with our Clients to deliver an outstanding experience
• Perform as part of a quality assurance team and conduct quality control reviews of completed deliverables
• Support on construction inspection/administration activities
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in advancing digital delivery and AI-supported workflows in infrastructure projects

Required Qualifications

• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate
• Interest or experience analyzing and designing water focused systems
• Experience with production, simulation, and automation such as BIM systems, numerical modeling platforms, and other production tools
• Microsoft Office experience
• Must be able to work in a team environment
