Job summary

California Water Service Group is seeking a Supervisor/Superintendent for the Lake Isabella district in California. The role oversees field operations, capital projects, and maintenance of the water distribution system, supporting the District Manager with updates and critical decisions.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent water utility experience and relevant operator certifications, with 5+ years in water utility operations and at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent water utility experience required.
• Five years of experience in field operations, customer service, or related department desired.
• One year of supervisory experience desired.
• State Water Resources Control Board certifications listed below or equivalent.
• Must obtain Grade III within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, and may oversee training.
• Oversees field operations, including capital construction and maintenance for the distribution system.
• Identifies distribution capital budget projects and ensures adherence to guidelines.
• Manages flushing, maintenance, and repairs of mains, services, and valves.
• Performs shift operator duties and may act as Shift/Chief operator as needed.
• Oversees daily water system operations, including production, treatment, and maintenance.
• Ensures certified operators provide decisions impacting water quality and quantity.
