Job summary

The City of Lynwood invites applications for a Water Service Worker II to join our Public Works team. You will perform skilled, journey-level tasks in water distribution and wastewater systems, ensuring safe water delivery and reliable service to residents.

Ideal candidates hold a DWOCP Grade I and Grade II certificates, a California Class B license with airbrake and tank endorsements, and at least two years of related experience, with the strength to lift heavy loads as required.

Qualifications

• Valid DWOCP Grade I Water Treatment Operator certificate and Grade II Water Distribution Operator certificate.
• California Class B driver's license with airbrake and tank endorsements (Class A desirable).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Water/Wastewater Worker I or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of journey-level water service and wastewater duties.
• Conduct field water quality testing, sampling, and flow calculations.
• Maintain and repair chemical feed equipment, pumps, valves, and piping systems.
