Job summary

The City of Avon Park is seeking a Collections and Distribution Technician to assist with installation and maintenance of municipal water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The role involves construction, repair, and testing of mains, valves, meters, and appurtenances, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Candidates must have a Florida driver’s license; CDL preferred or required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Water or Wastewater license/certificate preferred or must obtain within 18 months.
• Valid Florida driver's license; CDL preferred or obtainable within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and servicing water mains; excavate trenches for watermain placement.
• Maintain daily paperwork and record-keeping.
• Repair and install water mains, valves, fittings, waterservices, meters (water & electric).
• Repair and maintain valves and fire hydrants.
• Assist customers with minor plumbing repairs and support other duties as assigned.
