Job summary

City of Altamonte Springs is seeking a seasoned public works leader to direct potable, reclaimed, and wastewater systems, overseeing operations, budgets, and capital improvements. You will supervise staff, coordinate with engineering and external partners, and ensure safe, efficient utility delivery citywide.

The role requires license compliance within 18 months and experience with asset management, work orders, and infrastructure tracking systems.

Qualifications

Five (5) years of progressively responsible utility experience.
Five (5) years progressively responsible management experience, including direct supervision.
Two (2) years' experience with computer programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Munis proprietary software.
Valid driver license. Must obtain State of Florida driver license within thirty (30) days of employment.

Responsibilities

Direct and manage the operation, maintenance, repair and construction of potable, reclaimed and wastewater delivery and collection systems.
Oversee annual resources and budgets and coordinate capital improvements.
Supervise employees and temporary labor and manage payroll.
Coordinate with Engineering, inspectors, developers, and contractors on field conditions and shutdowns.
Develop estimates and procure materials, equipment and tools as needed for projects.
