Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is hiring a Utility Line Technician to support Water Distribution Systems. The role involves locating, inspecting, and maintaining water and wastewater infrastructure, responding to service requests, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in utilities, the ability to obtain a Water Distribution license within a year, and be willing to work outside normal hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certification.
• Two years of water/sewer utilities experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain a TCEQ Water Distribution D license within 12 months.
• Must pass physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair water and sewer systems.
• Conduct CCTV assessments of the wastewater collection system.
• Perform smoke testing and inspections.
• Monitor flow and maintain equipment.
• Provide customer support and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on, physical work maintaining infrastructure.
• Complete city forms, surveys, and reports.
