Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking a DWM Water Distribution Operator III (OLIO-Distribution) in Atlanta, GA. You will operate heavy equipment including backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and excavators to support wastewater collection system operation and maintenance, and load materials for on-site work.

Under direct supervision, you will follow procedures, document work, and coordinate with the Watershed Crew Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Four years of experience operating excavators and heavy trucks or related equipment.
• Proficiency operating three of: backhoe, crane truck, excavator, rubber-tire loader, or low-boy.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment (backhoes, loaders, excavators, trucks) to support wastewater collection work.
• Organizes and prepares equipment for daily tasks and projects.
• Transports equipment/materials to job sites and briefs supervisor on job status.
• Performs routine maintenance and inspects equipment for safe operation.
• Communicates with supervisor and crew to receive instructions and coordinate work.
