The Operator role covers daily operations of a water production and distribution system, including inspections, maintenance, repairs, and responding to emergencies. Certifications and driver’s license requirements are noted, with a strong emphasis on safety and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, water treatment and/or water distribution preferred.
• Ability to read and understand reports, maps and drawings.
• Ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, as well as knowledge of common water calculations and their applications.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection of all well sites, reservoirs, and booster stations, noting run times and pump operation.
• Assist customers with troubles related to water supply, and arrange for sampling if needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs at sites, including chlorine systems and pumps.
