City of San Clemente is seeking Distribution Operator I/II to support the water distribution system. The role involves maintaining lines, meters, hydrants, pump stations, and related facilities, with on-call duties after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, appropriate operator certificates, and a valid Class B license. Positions offer a four-day workweek and opportunities to grow within the Utilities/Water division.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; maintenance, water distribution, utilities training.
• Grade I Water Distribution Operator Certificate; valid or obtainable within 12 months.
• Grade II Water Distribution Operator Certificate; valid or obtainable within 18 months.
• Class B Driver License; required within 18 months of appointment.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair water distribution system components (lines, valves, hydrants, meters).
• Read, inspect, repair, and replace water meters; support pump stations and reservoirs.
• Operate construction and maintenance equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Create and update work orders in CMMS-LUCITY; document and track work performed.
• Assist with capital improvement projects and field maintenance activities.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.
