Job summary

The City of Bentonville is seeking an entry-level Water Distribution Worker to assist in maintaining, repairing, and installing components of the water distribution system. You will work under the Water Distribution Supervisor and Crew Leader, with a focus on safety and meeting federal, state, and city requirements.

Required: a high school diploma or GED, 0–1 year of related experience, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months and a Class I Water Distribution Operator License

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; willingness to obtain licenses.
• 0–1 year of related experience or training preferred but not required.
• Must reside within a reasonable radius to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering safe, reliable drinking water in compliance with regulations.
• Assist in installation, repair, and replacement of water mains, services, and appurtenances.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install pipes and fittings (metal and nonmetal).
• Operate dump trucks and heavy machinery as needed.
• Provide traffic control and safety spotter duties near work zones.
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools; ensure proper storage and cleanliness.
• Be available for rotating standby and overtime; respond to emergencies as needed.
