Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate with vocational training in pipefitting, electrical, or engine crafts.
• Two years' experience in pipefitting or general maintenance mechanic with some pipefitting.
• Mature enough to work alone effectively.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and welding experience.
• Understanding of water production and distribution methods and systems.
• Mechanical aptitude: use of hand tools and basic mechanics.
• Competent in basic mathematics and arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• General operation and maintenance of the water distribution system.
• Record changes on maps and records.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps and equipment.
• Make turn-ons/turn-offs per work orders.
• Operate auxiliary equipment such as purification or treatment systems.
• Manage materials and supplies inventory.
