Job summary

Lake County Department of Utilities in Painesville, OH is seeking a Water Distribution Maintenance technician for a full-time role responsible for repair, maintenance, and inspection of the water distribution system. The position includes emergency response, locating leaks, excavations, and waterline work, with heavy equipment operation and record-keeping.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid Ohio driver\'s license are required, plus drug testing; CDL and OEPA licenses may increase pay

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergencies and protects road users.
• Locate and repair buried pipes and leaks.
• Excavations and operation of heavy equipment (dump truck, backhoes, mini excavators).
• Repair/installation of waterlines, valves, hydrants, meters; service connections.
• Concrete finishing and asphalt repair.
• Keep accurate records.
• Operate shop, vehicle and equipment maintenance duties.
• Work safely in streets and protect pedestrians.
• Perform general maintenance of equipment and facilities.
