Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Supervisor-Water Distribution to lead and oversee all water distribution, maintenance, and operations within the Dallas Water Utility. This role supervises staff, ensures timely maintenance, and maintains alignment with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include planning long-range programs, overseeing budgets, coordinating resources, and improving service delivery while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six years of experience in Water/Wastewater/Stormwater fields.
• Two years of lead/supervisor experience required (can be included in total years).

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction in water distribution across facilities and systems.
• Supervises staff, schedules maintenance requests, and sets performance expectations.
• Participates in long-range planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Identifies issues with distribution methods and facilities; helps correct breakdowns.
• Plans and coordinates maintenance activities; ensures equipment availability and reliability.
• Ensures water distribution services comply with local, state, and federal regulations; tracks inventory and chemicals.
• Addresses employee grievances and enforces disciplinary actions as needed.
• Looks for methods to improve production and overall efficiency.
• Performs any other work as assigned.
