Job summary

City of Houston seeks an Inspector to perform inspections of water distribution infrastructure, read maps, and coordinate with departments to ensure compliance with standards. Responsible for recordkeeping, updating work orders, and documenting field activities.

Requires a high school diploma and two years of journey level experience. Texas driver’s license and knowledge of City specs, OSHA standards, and INFOR IPS/GEOLINKS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma/GED and up to 18 months of education or training in inspection.
• Two years of journey level or skilled experience related to inspection are required.
• License includes a valid Texas Driver's License; knowledge of City of Houston specifications and OSHA standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects water distribution infrastructure and restoration work.
• Reads drawings and maps to verify mains, valves, hydrants, services lines and manholes.
• Maintains records, updates work orders and prepares reports and documents.
