Job summary

A public works department in Logan, Utah seeks a full-time employee to operate small to medium-sized motorized equipment for water system maintenance. Responsibilities include operating dump trucks and assisting a crew chief with safety procedures. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma, experience with equipment operation, and the ability to obtain a valid Utah CDL. Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a standard senior high school or equivalent.
  • Experience equivalent to two years of operations of small to medium-size equipment.
  • Must have valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at appropriate level.

Responsibilities

  • Operate dump truck and crew truck in water distribution tasks.
  • Assist crew chief with duties related to safety procedures.
  • Repair leaks and install lines using various types of pipes.

Skills

Knowledge of equipment capabilities and safety precautions
Skill in safe operation of motorized equipment
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Skill in reading maps and construction plans

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Water Distribution IV Certification from the State of Utah (required within first year)
