Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior data steward leader embedded in the Water Business Group to define and enable data usage across disciplines. You will lead governance, standards, and change management, coordinating with directors and data teams to advance data-driven decision making.

The role emphasizes collaboration, enterprise data alignment, and stewardship across Water service lines, ensuring data integrity and practical reuse in AI and analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in the Water engineering industry.
• Experience building and leading diverse teams.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leaders, operations and marketing managers.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate a network of SME expertise across the Water Business Group to define technical standards.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for engineering terms to support models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Build alignment around data processes, priority, and expected use through your technical network.
• Promote responsible use of technical data, including access, quality, format, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Promote data fluency across the Water Business Group.
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with Water BG strategy.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools.
• Regularly communicate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
• Ensure new tools for Water BG align to data strategy.
