Virginia Department of Environmental Quality in Virginia Beach seeks an Environmental Manager II to lead the Water Compliance Program and related areas. You will oversee inspections of industrial and municipal wastewater, stormwater systems, and agricultural operations, ensuring compliance with state laws and agency policies.

You will supervise staff, manage program resources, investigate pollution incidents, and work with stakeholders to protect state waters.

Qualifications

• Understanding of DEQ leadership competencies and strategic thinking.
• Experience in program and personnel management; wastewater/stormwater knowledge.
• Education or training combined with experience enabling duties.
• Experience applying environmental science and engineering to wastewater and sludge management.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Annual Statement of Economic Interest and COIA training required.
