Job summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a seasoned Water Compliance Program Manager to lead inspections and regulatory actions across wastewater, stormwater, and related areas. You will supervise staff, manage resources, and ensure compliance with state laws and agency policies.

This leadership role requires strong knowledge of water quality regulations, effective communication, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of leadership competencies and strategic thinking.
• Experience in program and personnel management and supervision; wastewater and stormwater knowledge.
• Education/training sufficient to perform the specified job duties.
• Experience applying environmental science/engineering to wastewater, stormwater, monitoring, or sludge management.
• Valid driver's license may be required and driving a state vehicle could be necessary.
• Compliance training including Statement of Economic Interest and COI training.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all activities of the Water Compliance Program and related areas.
• Oversee inspections of industrial and municipal wastewater, stormwater facilities, and agriculture operations.
• Investigate pollution incidents and supervise staff and agency assets per policies.
