Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking an Environmental Supervisor - Water Specialist for the Cripple Creek & Victor mine to lead groundwater and surface-water monitoring and manage the site water program.

You will supervise two technicians, develop QAPPs/SOPs, and ensure data quality for regulatory reports and management decisions. The role emphasizes regulatory reporting, water balance, and improvement of the site water program, with collaboration across Operations, Process, Engineering and Projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, environmental science or a closely related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of mining and environmental compliance experience involving water-quality monitoring, regulatory compliance, technical reporting, and field programs.
• Familiarity with Colorado water rights, permitting, and regulatory frameworks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site water management program and Site Water Team to prioritize actions across Environmental, Operations, Process and Projects.
• Manage groundwater and surface-water monitoring programs, sampling, QA/QC, and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain QAPPs, SOPs, sampling plans, and field procedures for water monitoring and discharge monitoring.
• Coordinate regulator interactions, inspections, permit modifications, and compliance reporting.
• Support hydrogeologic investigations, technical studies, and water-related permit activities.
