Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5–8 years designing and managing water & wastewater projects from a commercial/industrial background.
• 1–3 years in a project management role.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and Texas regulations.
• Ability to travel to client locations; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead client meetings and guide internal engineering teams on multi-discipline projects.
• Perform lead technical engineering duties as required.
• Review team designs and calculations for water resources projects.
• Manage budgets and schedules; assist with permit applications.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Mid-level Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer to assist in growing Tetra Tech’s Texas engineering business. Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel as needed, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement.

Essential Job Functions

• Attend and potentially lead regularly scheduled meetings of the client.
• Lead internal engineering and design teams on single and multi-disciplined projects.
• Assume role of lead technical engineer as needed.
• Review other members of the team’s design efforts.
• Review calculations prepared by others within the Process/Environmental group related to water resources or water/wastewater design.
• Perform periodic quality control reviews.
• Help manage project budget and schedule.
• Oversee the preparation of permit applications to regulatory agencies; occasionally take lead on permit application preparation.
• Interface with vendors, equipment suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Meet with regulatory agencies.
• Attend bid openings, review bid packages, and make recommendations to clients for the award of contracts.
• Occasionally, serve as lead person on proposal development of new opportunities.
• Write proposals and Engineering Work Orders.
• Prepare and learn to interact with commercial/industrial clients to identify needs and develop solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical).
• A Professional Engineering (PE) License.
• 5-8 years of experience with designing & managing water & wastewater projects from a COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRIAL BACKGROUND.
• 1-3 years of experience in project management role.
• Knowledge and experience with environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements of Texas.
• Ability to travel to client locations, both sites and offices.
• Applicant must be able to drive and pass a driver vehicle records check.

Job Details

Pay: $58-$65/hr.
