Apple Inc. is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join the Watch Product Design (PD) organization in Cupertino.

You will coordinate mechanical design and development planning, driving schedules, risk management, and cross-functional alignment across engineering, operations and vendors. The role requires a solid Mechanical Engineering background and 2+ years in product development or project management, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required; BSME preferred.
• 2+ years prior product development experience in project management or mechanical engineering design.
• Detailed knowledge of product development process and cycles.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Enable efficient development by creating and maintaining a streamlined process, capturing parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item.
• Drive upstream component/module builds to fulfill system engineering build demands. Key contributor to system build planning and execution.
• Collaborate and facilitate communication across multiple engineering teams, operations, industrial design, and vendor partners to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals.
• Understand technical issues and complex design trade-offs; drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decisions to meet objectives.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focusing on top-level objectives.
• Create/maintain complex project schedules for product enclosure and internal mechanical components; respond quickly to changes.
• Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as priorities shift.
• Understand system-level part interactions; manage plans to provide configurations into reliability testing.
• Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testing.
• Offer multiple levels of status across contributors to executive management.
