Job summary

DFA is seeking a wastewater operations supervisor to oversee plant performance, coordinate sampling, and ensure compliance with permits and regulations. The role involves leading staff, maintaining SOPs, and coordinating with regulators.

Responsibilities include data analysis, report preparation, and troubleshooting to prevent non-compliance, while ensuring safe maintenance and effective communication with DFA colleagues.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
• 2 to 5 years of wastewater related experience with a wastewater system similar to the one onsite.
• Experience in light duty electrical power systems and instrumentation calibration preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal air emissions regulations preferred.
• Experience with a system based on a membrane bioreactor (MBR) preferred.
• Experience in supervisory or lead operations role preferred.
• License or certification – Water/Wastewater Operator or ability to achieve within 2 cycles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise wastewater plant operations and adjust processes to meet permit requirements.
• Collect wastewater samples for analysis.
• Ensure proper laboratory testing protocols are followed by staff.
• Read gauges, record findings, and prepare regulatory reports.
• Interact with regulators and manage permit renewals/modifications.
• Lead CI initiatives and cost monitoring.
• Maintain SOPs and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with DFA personnel to manage production conditions.
