Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to operate and maintain treatment systems and ensure safe, reliable public facilities across the state. You will perform maintenance, testing, documentation, and environmental procedures as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Completion of wastewater operator trainee program or equivalent certification.
• Valid Pennsylvania wastewater operator certification for any class.
• Must obtain EDMR certification within six months of probation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems and related facility upkeep.
• Perform facility maintenance tasks including plumbing fixtures and electrical components.
• Manage grounds by mowing, trimming, and cleaning outdoor areas.
• Operate, test and maintain sewage treatment and public water systems following procedures.
• Select and use appropriate hand and power tools for projects.
• Complete MV-614 forms to support recordkeeping.
• Apply environmentally sound procedures and participate in required training.
