Job summary

Wwoap is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator to oversee the operations and maintenance of the Quincy Township Wastewater Treatment Plant. The ideal candidate must possess a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Operators Certificate and a Class C, E, or higher license.

Qualifications

Job Overview

This position requires a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Operators Certificate for Wastewater Plant Operations. The individual must have a Class C, E, or above with a subclass 1 license. Applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Sewer Plant operations and control with skills in equipment repair and maintenance, maintaining records, laboratory sampling and testing; eDMR reporting and management experience. Compensation is commensurate to experience. If hired as an Operator Trainee, the candidate must obtain the outlined Operators License within 2 years of the date of hire.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of the Quincy Township Wastewater Treatment Plant and its collection system, including valves, pumps, and controls in an activated sludge treatment plant.
• Perform and or supervise all laboratory sampling and testing associated with the operation of the treatment Plant and collection system.
• Maintain records of the treatment plant, pump station operations, repairs, maintenance, and laboratory operations.
• Prepare and submit monthly eDMR reports.
• Maintain a running inventory of chemicals, repair parts, testing supplies and other miscellaneous materials.
• Supervise the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, collections system and pump stations.
• Work with designated engineering consultants, as needed.
• Develop daily policies and procedures for the sewer system.
• Assist with main line, manhole, and lateral inspections, as needed.
• Schedule and perform grease trap inspections.
• Assist other employees in all Sewage plant, Water plant operations, and Road Crew as needed.
• Assist with winter maintenance duties, as needed.
• Attend Staff meetings and monthly meetings with a prepared monthly report as requested.
• This job is subject to emergency calls and standby duty, 24 hours a day.
• Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fabricating and welding knowledge or experience are helpful.
• Computer, Word, and Excel required.
• PA One call marking and online replies.
• Must be able to frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
• Any other duties as assigned.
